Houses as residences require care, just like items that are often used. The treatment is not only cleaning or repairing damaged furniture but also periodic maintenance so that the house still feels comfortable to live in.
The purpose of periodic care is to carry out treatment at a specified and regular time. The residents also have no difficulty when using an item because it can function properly. Maintaining the Plumbing System
This is an old way that we still often encounter in the method of cleaning clogged water pipes or there is moss in them. Chemicals that are often used to clean pipes are Hydroxide and Chlorine (Sodium Hypo Chloride).
For cleaning with hydroxide, it is generally used to clean the blockages in the dirty water pipes because this chemical is a decomposition agent/pipe crust. To clean water pipes in this way is by mixing hydroxide weighing 250-500 grams into the water as much as 1/4 of the contents of the water tank. Then, you should stir the mix until evenly distributed and drain the water containing hydroxide by opening one by one the tap. If the mixed liquid is already out of the faucet, immediately close it, and do the same procedure with the other valves.
However, this method is dangerous. You should consider hiring a professional plumber instead. Do not forget to ask the plumber to check your house’s pipe seals.
Removing Mold at Home
To deal with fungi infestation that attacked parts of the house on walls and ceilings or even home furnishings, vinegar, fungicide (fungus exterminator) or disinfectant liquid can be used. The method is to wash the cloth with vinegar and apply it to the part that has been attacked by the fungus slowly so that the fungus spores don’t fly everywhere.
Sweeping is repeated with vinegar and a new washcloth. A brush is not recommended to clean the mushrooms because it will make spores spread to other places, such as sticking to furniture, sofas or inhaled by humans.
If the fungus attack has been extended and quite heavy, for example on the ceiling due to leaking, the leak is repaired immediately and replaced with a roof or repainted. Sanitation installations also need to be protected from damage and leakage so as not to cause mold.
Repainting the House
To make the paint layer on the wall not easy to peel, you should use a primer that is limited only as a cover for the cracks on the wall. Often we make mistakes, namely using the primer as a coating substance. The material does not bind the paint molecules, which makes it easy to peel.
You must also choose the right time for your repainting plan. The rainy season will be a bad choice to repaint because the weather will make the paint dry slowly. Similarly, scorching summer will not be a wise time since the extreme heat can damage the paint. The paint on the outside (wall surface) will dry out earlier than the inside, and it has the potential to cause the paint to crack, shrink or peel.
